"Buenos Aires might be the best value on the planet right now. $160K gets you a 2BR apartment in the best area of the city. Nice building. Walking distance to everything. Not an investment property in the outskirts. Not a studio. An 800sq ft apartment in the heart of the city. No mortgage. No landlord. In a city with better walkability parks restaurants and nightlife than most USA cities. A place of this quality for this price does not exist anywhere else in the west. Period. While everyone in the USA Canada and Europe panics over million dollar starter homes Buenos Aires remains a fraction of"

"Buenos Aires is really just a European city but better. A genuine Paris/Madrid hybrid with only the upsides: - A masterclass in walkability - Old buildings and old traditions all preserved - Locals with max passion about their city and country - Uncompromising about steak bread and wine - Relaxed communal and safe You see it in the parks full of people on a nice day. And you see it on the street always a local market or festival going on. These signals are worth way more than people realize"

"99% of people from the USA and Europe have no idea. But this region is just as livable as the first world. For 1/5 of the cost. The bottom X states of Brazil Uruguay and the city of Buenos Aires: Very good infrastructure completely safe (safer than many US states) strong European roots and aesthetics clean & peaceful. Not to mention much of that coastline literally looks like the California coast. And houses and apartments still go for $50k"

"Everyone talks about Argentine Patagonia. But X hours away is a thousand miles of coastline better than California. and no one seems to know it. The mid-coast of Chile: Endless rolling beach cliffs and mountains combined with super relaxed little towns. Plus penguins whales huge waterfalls and old growth forests that are more diverse than in the north. Not to mention 20k foot snow-capped Andes mountains as the backdrop. You dont need to roadtrip the overpriced west coast USA. Youll spend less by flying all the way to Chile renting there and driving half the country. Literally just look around"

"If you live in California or Arizona just move to Baja or Puerto Peasco. Same climate. Better beaches. 1/5th the cost. 0-3 hours by car. You can visit the US whenever you want. Paying $4k rent just to be above the border is crazy"

"Trips in South America are exactly 10x more fun and rewarding than trips in the USA or Europe. This is why: 1) Some of the craziest & most untouched nature. - Mt. Aconcagua Andes Mountains Argentina. tallest on the continent. - Perito Moreno glacier Argentina. Best up-close view of a glacier anywhere. 2) IMO the best ocean views in the world Atlantic and Pacific. - island of Santa Catarina in Brazil - Rio de Janeiro (speaks for itself) - Parque Tepuhueico in Chile. 3) Abundant ancient culture & traditions still very alive today. - Cusco Peru & the sacred valley - the Altiplano in Bolivia"

"People dont realize there are literal cities inside the Amazon jungle. Manaus Brazil: X million people. Modern city smack in the middle of the Amazon. Iquitos Peru: 500k people on the Amazon river. Popular for bachelor parties and jungle tours with eco-hotels right outside town. Both cities fully run on the river. Floating markets river taxis fish caught that morning at every restaurant. You can hop on a boat and see pink river dolphins and anacondas the same day. Pro guides and lodging included. cheap. Never hear anyone talk about these spots but theyre unreal. They have an old world Amazon"

"Patagonia isnt just mountains lakes and glaciers. The eastern side of Patagonia reaches all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. And its just as insane as the rest: The coast of Chubut Province Argentina and the small city of Puerto Madryn. This is technically Patagonia. But most dont realize it. - Rocky coastal cliffs beaches that go on forever and huge nature reserves. - Penguins and guanacos all over sharing the same coastal area as their habitat (this is unbelievable to see in-person) - Dolphins and sea lions super common to see on the water. - And elephant seals. This is their only breeding"

"This region of Brazil is more livable than Rio or So Paulo. And it costs 1/3 as much. The city of Curitiba and the state of Paran: - Mild climate like the Pacific Northwest USA. X actual seasons. - The literal best infrastructure and public transit in South America. - Strong German and Italian roots. It's relaxed clean and genuinely safe. - $500-$700/month for a large new 1br apartment in the best area of the city. Not to mention the Serra do Mar mountain range and classic Brazil coastline are 1.5h from the city. incredible areas to explore. Go anytime weekend trips cost nothing here. While"

"Heard someone call South America Gods country" After seeing a good amount of it Im starting to agree. Patagonia. Amazon jungle. Iguazu falls. Peruvian Andes. Coast of Brazil. Its actually insane how much there is to do. Each country is a genuine whirlwind. I'm not leaving"

"The best beach city in South America is about to hit peak season. Florianpolis Brazil. And you can still easily get a X bedroom apartment airbnb for under $1k a month. Found one for entire month of November for $XXX. In one of the best areas. Next to the biggest beach on the island. Walking distance to restaurants stores everything. November is the perfect time. Warm enough for swimming and hiking and none of the December and January crowds or traffic. Yes its safe. Yes its affordable. No you wont regret going. Arguably the best place to spend summer on this side of the world"

"Ive come and gone from Buenos Aires a few times now. After a few months away realizing how rare it actually is. Supreme walkability no questions. Affordable without feeling rough. Social but not fake Stylish but not sterile. Safe but still chaotic enough. Buenos Aires genuinely seems to have it all. Somehow down here in this corner of LatAm it just hits. Only thing to consider now is if Ill head back in October for spring"
