"This is the problem with mainstream media. They run on hype instead of established research. Current models are incapable of self-defined goals. Meaning they cannot "conspire" or "plot" to do anything. But content on AGI gets lots of views. News outlets readily share this resulting in mass hysteria. If you have worked with AI Agents you know how awesome they are. And how unreliable they can be. As long as humans are needed to decide how and what needs to be done there will be humans in the loop. So work on your skills and don't panic. The hype doesn't deserve your "attention". don't worry"

If you are an engineer making decisions for a team your opinions must be grounded on facts. Reading research papers helps you cut through the noise and see what's happening on the ground.
