"Alex Golesh is a good coach but if you fire James Franklin does PSU want to take a chance on a coach who hasnt had any success at the A4 level I dont see Golesh getting an offer from Penn State. If he did IMO the PSU fan base would go nuts. IMO PSU want a big name with proven success against top teams. A Saban Meyer with Nattys or a Cignetti due to recency success bias. Not sure about Rhule since he hasnt proven anything at Nebraska. You should see how half the VT fan base doesnt want Franklin even though he will get them 9-10 wins annually and owns Virginia recruiting"
