"if tomorrow i wanted to build better chips than nvidia i would start by studying the improvements between fermi pascal volta and ampere not hopper to blackwell not from a big name uni or anything but from personal experience the more i try to work on latest stuff in diffusion or kernel authoring the more i find myself going back to papers from 1990-2010 to really understand where it all came from and what problem required a specific idea to be thought of it's nice to play with shiny new research but the "outdated" fundamentals feel worth so much more"
