"The Lido DAO governs the Ether delegated to those independent operators. Under the old theorized attack the DAO would have the ability to vote to strip Ether away from the operators and concentrate it. Prior to EIP-7002 honest operators could defect. With dual governance if the Lido DAO ever attempted to do this the stETH holders have the chance to exit their underlying Ether from the LST before any sort of operator concentration could happen. i.e. they used to have an attack vector as a single entity but IMO that has been closed now and we can think of the node operators as independent"

I want more distributed alternatives like Rocket Pool and the Lido CSM to replace the curated operator system. I just think DG has actually eradicated the Lido threat. I feel like it's quite simple for the social layer to do something similar with stETH holders i.e. "hey guys there is an upgrade going through Lido right now that is going to kick out a reputable operator and concentrate stake; you should consider turning that stETH back into Ether".
