"You need $17000000 in token stake alone to run a Solana validator. Rewards are not covering those costs currently leading validators dropping out. On XRP any $XXX laptop with 32Gb RAM can be a validator no token stake no $$ incentives. Both PoS and PoW have artificial costs they try to offset with incentives. Bitcoin gives out mining rewards for hash power.
