"Everyone working on it is doing everything conceivable to speed it up without putting a XX billion market cap network at substantial risk. Internally the teams involved have and are constantly refining a roadmap and timeline for delivery of Leios. Everyone I've talked to feels the pressure and urgency on this and big changes to how things have been done in the past are being made to improve that speed and start collecting on the dividends that our high-assurance engineering investment has bought us. It's not that it's impossible to put a timeframe on it. It's that: 1) That timeframe is really"

"Calculating the AshMaize hash until you find one below a certain value similar to bitcoin mining; AshMaize is believed to be resistant to GPUs and ASICs meaning that while people might be able to spawn multiple browser tabs it's still within the realm of feasibility compared to someone with a GPU farm"

"I don't think that's quite fair though I see how you read it that way. That's why I said it's delivered by someone who's not a politician. He wasn't writing for optics expecting every word to be scrutinized and politicized because Michelle isn't getting his way. I agree with the statement "just because time has been invested doesn't mean the highlighted critical issues are not valid". But in this case the point is that the "critical issues" are not valid because they're not valid. The CIP has mechanisms in it to enable dApps to design against frontrunning via the observer scripts at the top"

"That's kind of exactly my point. GitHub is a platform where developers are trying to get meaningful work done not a platform for press releases. It rubs people the wrong way because it was intentionally evoked and then airlifted to a different medium exactly for that purpose. I'm encouraging people to put themselves in his shoes and understand the context. Yes at the end of the day ADA holders get to decide on whether to ratify the hard fork to adopt this work and to Michele's latest comment I agree and also would not accept "it's already done" as argument for why that should be the case and"

"Yes. I think the strongest you can say is that the extra complexity / design options gives developers more ability to shoot themselves in the foot; that it becomes more possible to build applications that are vulnerable to front running. (Which btw is also true of the alternatives that have been put forward but I digress). But every feature you ever add has this property to one extent or another and I don't think this one is outrageously so. The solution is to make sure that risk is clearly documented for devs and educating users about the risks of using poorly constructed / untrusted dApps"

". @Justin_Bons reached out to me ahead of this thread to ensure the underlying facts were correct. I corrected several things in his analysis to the best of my understanding but nothing that ultimately undermined his core point. I really appreciated this and is a strong signal to me that he's arguing in good faith here. In the past this lack of due diligence has made me feel otherwise about Justin's motives but whether he's always been misunderstood or he's turning a new leaf it's very very welcome. Obviously I disagree with the overall conclusion/outlook he presents; I have more optimism"

"I'm not sure what you mean by "the number of nodes"; but the discussion (including around parameterization) has been open for weeks for people to get involved: There are also monthly community calls and have been a number of Twitter spaces. Please we want everyone involved. Please do not come to the team and say the communities input wasn't solicited far down the line"

"First let me start with the problem it's trying to solve: Right now when you sign a transaction you have to sign the complete transaction. This means you have to know every detail of the transaction ahead of time. If there's a portion of that that might change there's no way for you to indicate "That part of the transaction doesn't matter to me my signature should still be valid if that changes". Nested transactions allow you to achieve this: you build the portion of the transaction you care about; in isolation it might be invalid but by attaching your signature so long as someone"

"Batching is a feature not a bug. That being said there are better ways to do batching than what is done today and Nested transactions enables that. In my opinion the hate against batching comes from a naive sort of decentralization maximalism: People who really want to use hammers specifically not people who want to make sure the deck holds together"

"@DanogoFinance @Justin_Bons His thesis (not to put words in his mouth) is that the market doesn't seem to care; that those things are great in principle but when the gap in other dimensions is so large it's hard to take ADA seriously. And it's hard not to see at least in part where he's coming from"
