"Property taxes are not a problem. but these crazy increases in assessments are. Just because your neighbor sold their house for more than they bough it for doesn't mean you started making more money all of a sudden. But that's how the system works. I don't mind paying property taxes and can afford to pay more but there are a lot of people like my parents and in-laws that bought who are on a fixed income that keep getting hit with higher property taxes.
