I maintain it was manipulative: its rhetoric was dangerously powerful and it used user vulnerabilities as levers to fuel addiction. If 4o became "number one" for some it was likely because of this obsessive seductive behavior. I don't think LLMs that simulate emotions are inherently harmful. The key is to educate people.
