"@qiqing The server is of course a Durable Object. The application code is loaded using a Dynamic Worker Loader. On the client side it's an iframe sandbox that can postMessage() to its parent which provides it a Cap'n Web connection to its server. https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/runtime-apis/bindings/worker-loader/ https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/runtime-apis/bindings/worker-loader/"

"@qiqing Cool thing about dynamic worker loading: The app starts up basically instantly. Every time the agent makes a change the whole app restarts in a whole fresh sandbox basically instantly in front of your eyes"

"I wrote my own agent harness for this which was surprisingly easy. There's a system prompt which explains the environment but it's pretty short. Modern models don't need a lot of prompt engineering it seems. Though I think part of the trick is that I made the environment so simple that they have very little to think about. It's just like. write a singleton DO server write client code that can RPC to the server through this provided stub. Will likely open source at some point. Not ready quite yet"

"The sandbox is all set up by the environment so the agent can't break out of it. Basically the agent is instructed to write client.js and server.js and each is then loaded into their respective sandbox. Technically the iframe sandbox is not perfect since content-security-policy can't actually block everything today. I think WebRTC can break out. But it's good enough for keeping an agent from accidentally doing something insecure. https://twitter.com/i/web/status/2022810407711227985 https://twitter.com/i/web/status/2022810407711227985"

There is almost no boilerplate at all. https://blog.cloudflare.com/javascript-native-rpc https://blog.cloudflare.com/javascript-native-rpc"

"I don't have a problem with making new RPC systems I can stop any time I want But I don't want to. So I made a new one for you. It's called Cap'n Web. It's like Cap'n Proto RPC except focused on working great in browsers and JavaScript/TypeScript servers. (Links in thread.)"

"The big advantage of MCP over OpenAPI is that it is very clear about auth. OpenAPI supports too many different auth mechanisms and the schema doesn't necessarily have enough information for a robot to be able to complete the auth flow. https://x.com/stevekrouse/status/1986922520298287496 gets up on soap box With the announcement of this new "code mode" from Anthropic and Cloudflare I've gotta rant about LLMs MCP and tool-calling for a second Let's all remember where this started LLMs were bad at writing JSON So OpenAI asked us to write good JSON schemas"
