"You aren't necessarily missing anything. I'm comfortable trading spreads and treating them as a binary bet. To get the same XXX% return off the 420p you need stock to go to 320ish. depending on timing of course. So the ability to generate that return on a smaller move is attractive to me. You also might endure a nasty temporary drawdown even if they ultimately work whereas the delta on the spreads is lower"
