"John has preached the gospel peacefully for XX years. This was his first arrest at the behest of a Muslim woman with whom he entered into conversation. He asked her a question about her faith which the police say caused her harassment alarm or distress. The thing is there are many Muslims who rather than engage in reasonable inter-faith discussion leap to allegations of Islamophobia or hate simply because it's easier than doing apologetics. It will be interesting to see how Dominic Grieve's Working Group on Islamophobia proposes to defend and strengthen the freedom to preach the gospel which"

"The more you consider the details of this the more outrageous the police action becomes. The Muslim woman was (voluntarily) at a public awareness stall engaged (voluntarily) in conversation. She was asked a reasonable question about Islam. Instead of answering (and perhaps she couldn't) she chose to be harassed alarmed or distressed. If this case hadn't been pursued by @CConcern and John Steele vindicated it would effectively be illegal not only to preach the gospel to Muslims but to ask one a question about their religion. Do all Christians need to join the Free @SpeechUnion"
