With most of my extension ladders I just take the string off completely because they often get in the way. If there is no seam above the piece you need to remove then you can use either of these methods shown in the video. "This is something Ive shown before - using a snap lock punch to create a locking flap that snaps into the gable trim. I realize many people in other regions have never seen gable trim before and are used to a regular rake drip edge.
