"It has become a tradition here at the Sacramento History Museum to send out holiday cards to our donors and supporters of our institution. These 2024 holiday cards (250 this year) were printed using one of our printing presses we have on display in our print shop exhibit the 10x15 Chandler & Price Gordon-style jobbing press that was manufactured in Cleveland Ohio in 1902. In this video Howard demonstrates inking the press and operating the press recorded from different camera angles. This video was filmed in segments as Howard printed the inside text of the card in rhodamine red rubber base"

"Showing up close rolling out orange oil base ink with a brayer on the ink stone in preparation for some letterpress printing in the print shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum. As Howard demonstrates this is done to create an even layer of ink on the ink stone and the brayer. The remaining ink at the top of the stone will gradually be rolled out throughout the morning as were printing. #SacHistoryMuseum #sactiktok #museum #asmr #letterpress"

"October 8th is National Salmon Day For this region you can find Chinook salmon in the Sacramento River. For today Howard letterpress printed a halftone of a salmon. We received this halftone earlier this year from one of our followers Tim in Monterey California. This was printed with orange oil base ink using our Washington hand press which was made in 1852. #SacHistoryMuseum #NationalSalmonDay #printing #museum #sacramento"

"Flooding in Sacramento has been a concern for over XXX years. On January X 1853 the levee broke along the American River near 28th Street. This flood was a surprise for Sacramentans as a flood occurred X weeks prior on December XX 1852. In this video Susan discusses the 1853 New Years Day flood while standing by the Sacramento River near the I Street Bridge which used to be the location of the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers. Sacramento County is currently experiencing heavy rain and flooding in areas and our thoughts are with those affected during these recent storms."

"Press runs with our 10x15 Chandler & Price Gordon-style jobbing press are always an undertaking For this press run Howard and Jared are using black rubber base ink to print a large photo engraving of a cartoon depiction of Howard and his favorite letterpress saying Mind your ps & qs. The artwork was created by our staff member Shawn. The image was then sent to OWOSSO Graphic Arts in Owosso Michigan where the photo engraving was designed. In this video Howard and Jared show letterpress printing copies. There were XXX copies printed in this press run and a dab of ink was added about every 30"

"We get a lot of questions from viewers about how we get ready to print in our print shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum. Well today is a great day to cover that because September 21st is National Get Ready Day For today we are showing every step of the letterpress printing process. The video begins with Howard entering the shop and putting on his apron and sleeve protectors. Then we move onto Howard rolling out black rubber base ink on the ink stone. This is done to create an even layer of ink on the stone and brayer. The remaining ink at the top of the stone will gradually be"
