"Is there a name for these kind of semi-illustration/semi-photograph images that were prevalent in India during the 19th and 20th centuries I keep coming across images that I cannot tell are illustrations or photographs. It seems they were originally photographs but they way they have been printed or edited makes them appear as illustrations. At first glance you could easily mistake them as being photographs but something does not seem right when you analyze their finer details.
