"Ephialtes is one of the better boss fight designs from Kuro recently imo So for me personally I place much higher value in terms of enjoyment when a boss's parryable/dodgeable attacks are visually intuitive rather than something you need to fail at in order to "get the trick" behind it. This is a very commonly criticized aspect of Souls games actually. The boss seems like they're about to attack but they really just want to trick you into dodging and catch you before you can chain in another dodge.
